Thought i'd give you some insight to Vieanna.

You know your in Vienna when you're aggitated you missed the underground, and there's another one in 3 minutes.

You know your in Vienna when you turn up for work at 10:00am, and no-one thinks thats weird.

You know your in Vienna when you see a snow plow on the side walk, at the beguining of November.

You know your in Vienna when you go out for breakfast at 7:00am and order a beer, and you don't stick out.

You know your in Vienna when you send a pakage to a friend who lives one district away, and it gets to them three monthes later.

Hey guys,

School has started, I am in a class of 25 students with 8-10 girls and the rest boys. The pepole in my class speak all right english and now I can speak a little german so at least we can understand each other better then last year.

It's Lua's birthday on the 18th so for those of you who know her don't forget to say happy birthday.

Hey,
Nothing much going on at the moment but thought I'd Blog so you know I haven't forgotten about you all.

I am starting school on monday so am a little nervous but am actually looking foward to making some friends that speak english. This year I am in a class for the english speaking people. I think my english tests will be a little more diffulcult then the previous english tests. I am called Jordan and little things like that. Tests that are genarally not diffulcult for people with there first language as english.

Hey,
I think Austria has done something to my mum. This morning my mother turned around facing Greg and I and said the words I thought I would never in my life time hear my mother say. "I am sick of shopping". Now I know most of you out there who know my mum won't believe me. But do, becouse as much as it is hard to believe it IS true.

Anyway just wanted to report my mums sudden desire to"not shop" the shopaholic that she is.

Hi to all,
Just wanted to inform you that if you ever have the pleasure of being in Vienna you will never be starved of ice-cream. In fact I sugest that if you are consience of your weight be prepared to put on a little more on as ice-cream in Vienna is AWSOME. You wil never be able to walk past an ice-cream shop without buying. There is an ice-cream shop at every corner.

Guess What?
My parents have given me my chrismass present for last year a............
VIOLIN!!!!!! I am soooo exited which is surprizing actually considering the amount of effort that I put in to avoid practicing. Probly more then just doing the practice, but..... now I am older and wiser as I like to put it and causing more trouble as my parents would like to say.

It was my nanas 60th birthday on the sixteenth and being a disorganized grandaughter by the time I went to call it was to late in the other part of the world. I just wanted to say sorry for the lateness but I was thinking of you the whole day.

hallo all

Haven't been up to much lately. Mostly studing German or what my mum would say "studing", yeah yeah.
I am begining to see and feel the climate change already and I don't need to be told that in the winter I am going to be COLD.

Those of you who live in the wonderfull N.Z would know that the five cent coin has gone out of circulation. It was a sad thing for me to know that I can now say to children younger then me "when I was your age we used to be able to buy two sweets for 10 cents". A familiar saying mum used to say to me with one doller notes and I always thought was the kind of thing that only old people would say.

Anyways must be off to "study"

Shopping Spree,Hurray

Hi,
Yesterday I got given 100 Euro from my parents. So today we went shopping and I got quite a bit more then what I would have if I was in N.z and I still have change.
We set out at 10 and by 11 my step-dad was already sick of shopping, but I still had all my money and so we didn't stop to get lunch till an hour an a half latter. I was satisfyed with my few purchases's I had made so far. Then we headed bake into the shops and I found a cool store called the "New Yorker" which we stayed at for a while trying on cloths the whole time. When we went to purchase the itams it cost quite a bit less then I expected. I was not dissapointed. Shoes Shoes and more shoes, we stoped in at more than a few shops before I decided which one I liked best,even though their wasn't much of a selection as my feet are a bit bigger then the average european.

Now I am still exited from my day and I can't wait to show off my new wadrobe.

Summer Holidays

hello,
Haven't Bloged for a while partially becouse of me being grounded but mostly becouse of me being lazy.

Since my last blog I have started a German Course and have been going for three weeks now. It's great as all the people doing the course are my age and so we have a lot of fun. I think learning German is helping my english. I find it frustrating that the German language has five or sixs words for something you use in different conttexs wheras the english only has one.

There was a big concert by the Danube with Sean Paul, The Pussy Cat Dolls, Black eyed peas, Shakera and Beyonce. People either loved it or hated it depending on their taste in music.

I was wondering the other day about things I miss in New-Zealand and I think the two biggest things are the Sea, as Austria is landlocked and front lawns as everyone lives in apartments here and don't have lawns.

hey,
I have been a bit lazy lately so sorry for not Blogging recently.

Since my last Blog I've been to a wedding and have been given a new phone as a late birthday present.

The wedding was beautifull and was a little different to the weddings in New-Zealand. In Austria you have two weddings, the signing of the marrige liscence and then you have the whole weeding in a white church thing if you want. In New-Zealand you sign the papers at the church/beach/garden etc etc...

I have wanted a phone for ages now as almost all my friends in New-Zealand have one. Now that I have one I am very attached to it and I think that I should probarly grow up or get more friends.hehe.

I will blog later with more news

Hey,
since my last post I have started school and am liking it, but not loving it.
In my class there are I think 9 girls and 24 boys. Every one in my class is from some country other then Austria or Germany. Only a few speak english and I am sure we must look funny trying to act out what we want to say to each other!! We are going on a trip to the movies next week to Ice-Age 2 in German so that will be interesting!! The people are very friendly and the teachers are very pleased I cannot only spell and pronounce the numbers from 1 to 10 in english but I can go all the way to 100.haha. I love English in this school because we do things like - My name is..... I am.... years old. so surprise surprise I have the best pronounciation in the class.haha.(they have not caught on that english is my first language)

Hi all,
It is amazing the amount of people who say "oh you mean Australia" when I tell them that I am going to Austria to live for three years. At which I reply "No,there are no Kangaroos in Austria".

I have been in Austria for 4 weeks now (Austria is In Europe next to Germany and Italy for those who are about to state idiotic statements like the one above).
It is a Country consisting of 8.5 million people in a Country the size of half the north island in N.Z.
My First Impresion of the Country was that there was no greenery and that there was too many people. Now after only living here for 4 weeks I think it is a lovely place with lots of history and the most extrodinary gardens.

The first week in Vienna,Austria was spent getting to know Vienna and its magnificent transportation. We found cheap food and the Uni,Greg (my step-dad) was to work at for the next 3 years.
The second week here was spent running from flat to flat to find a place to live.
By the time we had done all that we were exhausted and made a decision to take over the flat a friend here was renting.
The third week here was spent Relaxing and moving into our new home. We found a theme park and had an Awesome time on the rides and laughing at my Mum who had her eyes closed and screamed her head off on every ride. We also found a ice-cream called um Bum-Bum?? Weird.
So that brings us to this week were my mum and I explored the gardens and looked at statues. We also went to a free concert in the Rathaus.

Hope you enjoyed our first few adventures in Vienna, Austria.
